Lt. Gov. Skillman Awards $500,000 Grant to Bloomfield

Lt. Gov. Skillman Presents Town of Bloomfield with a $500,000 Grant

Recently, I had the pleasure of presenting more than $14 million dollars in Community Focus Funds to 33 Hoosier communities, including $500,000 to the Town of Bloomfield in Greene County. The town will use the funds to make improvements to three blocks surrounding the area's historic courthouse square.

Since 2005, Governor Daniels and I have been working to create the conditions that will foster economic success all over the state, regardless of the size of the community. We always want new businesses and expansions happening in areas that need it the most. That, most often, is in and around our smaller cities and towns.

The Office of Community and Rural Affairs is a partner in our state's overall economic development efforts.  The office helps those smaller communities define and prepare for their economic futures.  For many rural communities, there is a critical need to take the "next step" to address their infrastructure challenges, and the Community Focus Funds can them accomplish that.

Congratulations on receiving this award, and thank you for helping us move Indiana forward, one community at a time. Our future is certainly bright!
