SOUL: Society of Unconditional Love
What we do:
As members of S.O.U.L. we pledge to work hard to support, benefit, and build up the community while having fun at the same time. Here are a few of the things S.O.U.L. is or will be involved in....
Community Support- Aide community organizations with monetary and item donations such as; blanket and clothing drives for homeless and fire victims, running errands for the homebound and elderly, clean-up and pet donations for local animal shelter, lending a helping hand whenever needed within the community.
Charity- Donating to local causes such as; Head Start, Roosevelt Mission, Humane Society, local food pantries, reading to seniors at local nursing homes.
Volunteer Work- S.O.U.L.'s 'operation community clean-up' picking up trash in the community, helping local businesses by cleaning parking lots, volunteering time at local nursing homes, hospital, animal shelter, mission, schools, etc.
Fundraisers- Benefits, carnivals, yard sales, concession stands at community events, raffles, pledge drives, walk-a-thon, concerts, holiday events and much, much more.
(A portion of all money raised will be used for operating expenses such as printing, advertising, concession products, etc.; majority of proceeds will be put back into our community.)
The logo represents what we in S.O.U.L. stand for, which is community, love, hope, and unity. The joined heart hands symbolize community, while red=love, blue=hope, and yellow=unity.
*Our logo was designed by our own Shelly Puckett.
The Society Of Unconditional Love (S.O.U.L.) was created by Patti Danner in 2004.Patti saw a need in our community to help those less fortunate and without hesitation she pulled her resources and gathered her friends to help create a perfect Christmas for a family in the community. Patti's efforts were so successful that she decided to form a group of caring people to continue to help people in the community, and S.O.U.L. was born. S.O.U.L. continues to grow in membership and assistance and welcomes all people who want to join us in our endeavors to help the people of our community. If you would like to make a contribution, assist with fundraisers, or join S.O.U.L. please feel free to contact us by e-mail.
At the May meeting we decided that the monthly dues ($5 a month) may now be mailed in if you're not able to attend the meetings. That means that you may become a S.O.U.L. member without attending the meetings, as long as you send in your monthly dues. Also we'll be keeping a list of the members and will be able to contact people when we are having events, even if they can't or choose not to attend the meetings. The address to mail your dues is RR 2 Box 694 Linton, IN 47441. Checks may be made out to S.O.U.L.
Don't forget that S.O.U.L. has a toter at the Recycling Center. The more cans put in our toter the more money we earn. Tell everyone you know that recycles!
S.O.U.L. meets on the 2nd Sunday of the month at Francisco de Borja Coffee in Linton, IN @ 5:00.
